This raspberry soap recipe is created with a fragrance oil, because no raspberry essential oil exists. There is a raspberry seed oil expressed from the seeds, but this carries no scent. Sometimes it is one the label as an ingredient, leading people to think the scent is from the oil. See if you can get samples of the different raspberry fragrances, as some of the raspberry scents smell better than others, I used to make one called Wild Raspberry. Raspberry fragrance oil is sometimes already pre-blended with other scents, including vanilla, rhubarb and chocolate.
Raspberry soap recipe:
- Basic #2 recipe:
51.2 oz Olive oil or an Olive/Canola blend
6.2 oz Coconut oil
6.2 oz Palm oil
23.4 oz water
8.6 oz lye crystals - for this scented bar, add:
- 4.5 T of raspberry fragrance oil
- colorant:
- 1 – 2 tsp of liquid red color and/or pink, amount will depend on how much of your soap you will want red or pink
- put aside a portion of the soap base for the red part.
Here is another way to make your raspberry soap. There is the natural base color, with 2 – 3 different shades of pink all swirled in. This bar also has little hearts embedded in the top.
The image below shows an uncomplicated melt and pour version of a raspberry soap. The base would have been heated and tinted pink with the scent, then a previously made layer of white melt and pour, warmed and curled and inserted into the pink base.
And a super beautiful bar with rich dark tones, shown below. This well represents the black raspberry scent with those two colors. Plus the addition of poppy seeds and a black bottom layer.
